The Next Renaissance
The Renaissance unleashed a profound transformation in human thought and expression across three centuries of unprecedented change. Spurred by Johannes Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press, ideas once confined to speech or rare manuscripts could circulate freely. Knowledge was no longer perishable, it became an asset that could travel across time and space. The printing press catalyzed literacy, transforming it from a privilege of the elite into a right of the people.
AI is producing a similar seismic effect today. In a world demanding unprecedented speed and precision, AI extends our capacity to analyze, create, and communicate at scales previously unimaginable. Just as the printing press freed ideas from physical constraints, AI is liberating human potential from cognitive and creative limitations. Where the first Renaissance spread literacy, this new era transforms the full spectrum of human ability through AI. This time, though, the Renaissance is not a democratization of literacy; rather, one of human capability.
Reimagining Human Potential
As former Head of Go-to-Market at OpenAI, I witnessed firsthand the challenge of converting AI’s transformative potential into tangible benefits that expand human capacity.
This experience sparked a defining mission that now drives my research, advisory work, and speaking engagements: envisioning a future where AI creates boundless opportunities and redefines our fundamental understanding of life and work.
The Next Renaissance newsletter embodies this vision. It serves as a forum for exploring how humanity might evolve alongside artificial intelligence. Each edition is anchored by these two questions:
How can we harness AI to help humans reach their fullest potential?
What will it take to turn innovation into real-world impact?
We invite you to explore these questions alongside us. Discover more on my site.
